Commission for NewEnglander, not on DA, of thier character Trill. She's a woman with a supah-voice, who gets turned into a bluebird. After getting stuck in the palace for a while, she manages to escape to the outside world. This is her finally resting with some normal birds, as an odd sense of normality.
Been a while since i've done a background-heavy picture, but I like how this turned out. I may tweak it a little more; i'm happy with it, but not so happy that i'd throw myself in front of a speeding train in ecstasy.
They do good in my roomie's room, but not good elsewhere. They're get... well, "feral" easily. Like how I spent 20 minutes chasing them around just to get a hold on them: probably not good for the socialization process, but dammit, they were wedged in various corners and behind king-sized beds.
Looks nice. It's great to see another background-heavy image by you.
But, if you don't mind getting a few crits, I think the blue bird's legs look a little strange. They seem a bit chunky, which is strange for a song bird. And it also seems to be missing that backwards facing toe, unless that is part of her design.
I also think that the connection between the body and the left wing looks a little odd. Flat or something. It almost seems to be stuck to the back, instead of to a shoulder. I hope that makes sense.
And considering that the blue bird is (probably) trying to land on that stone slab, I'd expect the slab to overlap the tail, and not the other way around. Now it looks as if she'll flop down in front of it. (I realize it's just a tiny bit of overlap, so maybe I'm reading too much into that little detail.)
I really like how the other bird came out, though. The little details in the feathers are a really nice touch. The background looks nice and abstract, and I really like the bark on the trees and the shadows cast by the fence.
So great job! ^^

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
